Capt. Patrick Waters, S.O.C. Captain Fire Department City of New York New York Age: 44 Year of Death: 2001 My husband‚ Captain Patrick J. Waters was much loved by our two boys‚ Christopher and Daniel‚ and myself. He was a terrific husband‚ outstanding father‚ good friend to many‚ dedicated basketball and hockey coach and a serious firefighter. He gave up being an internal auditor to pursue his dream — FDNY. While he rose up in the ranks‚ he was always a teacher‚ always a friend and never forgot where he started from. Being part of the brotherhood of the Fire Department of the City of New York was as important to him as his family. He was always willing to step up‚ whether it was in our sons’ school as the Fundraising Director and PTA President‚ cleaning up the church basement‚ being a coach or breaking in a new probie. He loved working as a firefighter in Engine 217‚ Ladder 108 and as a Lieutenant in Ladder 106 and Ladder 124. He worked very hard to become a member of the Special Operations Command and worked as a Lieutenant and then as Captain in all the Rescues‚ Squads and Marine companies and was in command of Haz-Mat 1 on September 11‚ 2001. He always had a cup of coffee‚ he always made me laugh and he loved our boys wholeheartedly. We will love him Always and Forever. – Janice Waters
