Jeffrey Stark, Eng.230 Firefighter Fire Department City of New York New York Age: 30 Year of Death: 2001 Jeffrey Stark was a firefighter with Engine Co. 230 in Brooklyn‚ N.Y. Jeff joined the Fire Department on February 16‚ 1999. After spending a few years in the business sector‚ Jeff decided to change his career path and join the FDNY. It was obvious to those around him he had made the right choice. His times with the fire department were some of his most fulfilling years both professionally and personally. At the time of his death‚ he was 30 years old. The youngest of 5 children‚ he followed his two older brothers‚ both members of the FDNY. He was proud to join them as a member of this ‘brotherhood.’ Jeff enjoyed biking‚ fishing‚ hunting‚ and camping. Jeff loved the guitar and had played since he was a child. Since joining the fire department‚ he had developed new skills which included cooking‚ carpentry‚ and a rapidly improving golf swing. He was a beloved son and brother who was loved and cherished by his family‚ his girlfriend‚ and his many friends and colleagues. He will always be remembered for his loving kindness‚ deep caring‚ and as a wonderful man who gave his life as an American hero. – Rosemary Stark
