Joseph Angelini SR.

Firefighter Joseph Angelini Sr succumbed to injuries sustained while operating at Manhattan 5th Alarm Box 8087 at 2 World Trade Center which was transmitted at 0840 HRS on September 11, 2001. Firefighter Angelini a kind and gentle man served with the F.D.N.Y. for 40 years. His son, Joseph Angelini Jr of 4 Truck is among the many missing emergency service workers. Joe has endlessly given his time to organize the Holy-Name Society breakfasts each year. On May 20, 2001 at a ceremony held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Joe Angelini Sr was honored as “Man of the Year” by the F.D.N.Y.. Joe was a man of experience. A dinosaur of the ages. He started his career out of 1 Truck in downtown Manhattan in the 1960’s. 1 Truck at the time, had the ONLY towerladder in service throughout the entire city! In his early years, imagine this: no handi-talkies, no masks, and forget about the protective clothing we have now. His stories of the jobs back then were incredible. Joe was the senior guy at Rescue Co. 1 and will be extremely missed by everyone. Joe’s oldest son, Joe Jr was also killed at the WTC. Firefighter Joe Angelini Jr was assigned to Ladder 4 in Midtown. To Joe Sr and Jr, Rest in Eternal Peace..
